SECTOR 3.

APPLEDENE TO DORAN’S BEND

SECTOR 3.

Watch now

A sector of mixed terrain, with tight tree-lined sections and fast kinks. Ballacraine is a critical junction with tight turning, while Ballig Bridge and Gorse Lea are known spectator areas. Communication between posts is essential, particularly in wooded areas where sightlines can be limited.

6.3

This sector begins 6.3 miles from the start line, west of Crosby.

155

Gorse Lea sees riders clip apexes at over 155mph.

1907

Ballacraine has been a TT landmark since the very first race in 1907.

Standout locations

Key locations and features within Sector 3.

Ballacraine

A sharp, decisive right-hander where the course leaves the A1 and turns toward Glen Helen. Ballacraine is a heavy braking zone and popular overtaking point, with great visibility and serious racing intensity. A key post for marshals.

Ballaspur

This fast right-hand kink has seen its share of TT history, including Milky Quayle’s dramatic 2003 crash. Riders push hard here, making it one of the more dangerous - and exhilarating - parts of the course. High speed, high stakes!
