SECTOR 1.

TT Grandstand to Union Mills

SECTOR 1.

Watch now

Busy with public access, this opening sector includes major marshal points at Bray Hill, Quarterbridge and Braddan Bridge. High-speed descents, heavy braking zones and early-lap rider bunching make awareness and radio comms especially important. Spectator numbers and access logistics also require close coordination.

Sector 1 begins at the official TT start line on Glencrutchery Road.

Standout locations

Key locations and features within Sector 1.

Bray Hill

One of the most dramatic descents in road racing, Bray Hill sends bikes plunging downhill just seconds after the start. Engines scream, suspension compresses, and the spectacle is unforgettable. With multiple viewing areas, it’s a front-row seat to raw TT power.

Quarterbridge

Quarterbridge is the first major turn on the course, and it’s a big one! Riders arrive at full speed, throttle wide open, before snapping right toward Braddan. The energy here is electric, with fantastic views and a real sense of the race just getting started.

Braddan Bridge

A technical left-right ‘S’ bend over a stone bridge, right on the edge of Douglas. Riders must slow dramatically, creating one of the best opportunities to watch their precision and control up close. A long-time favourite for fans and marshals alike.
