Marshals using what3words at TT 2024

TT Marshals are starting to use what3words to find locations around the TT course

Are you marshalling this year? If so, and you have a smart phone, make sure you have downloaded and set up the what3words app.

What3words can give a location that is more precise than even an address and post code. Its developers have divided the world into 3 metre squares, and then given each square a unique combination of 3 words. Those words can then be used by anyone to pinpoint a location. You can even then get directions by opening your maps from within the app.

This year, each marshal point will have its what3words reference on the Location Sheets to help marshals/medics/officials find the spot that needs them, and we have started to add them to our website content too. It’s hoped that we’ll also be able to get the list published so that in the future, so if you’re going to a new point you can find it with no hassle.  Test it out - our home from today is partly.distancing.nonfarm - can you find us?
